I always struggle with the titles for the posts which include a batch load of good music. Well…you probably know where the inspiration come from for this one. Here’s a few bits for you to enjoy this weekend. (if you follow the blog on Twitter or Facebook, you may have come across a few of these already)
Olan Mill – Forecast#3
The brilliant Serein label, home to Nest’s Retold, release their 3rd podcast, mixed by label artist Alex Smalley, it’s an ambitious mix, flowing from the up to the downtempo.
“Forecast #3 comes courtesy of Alex Smalley, one half of Olan Mill who you’ll be hearing a lot more about soon. You only need glance at the tracklist to see that there is some serious ground covered in this mix – opening with Nirvana and Autechre respectively and closing with Arvo Pärt makes for quite a journey. The raucous introduction quickly settles into a fairly relaxed pace (Greg Davis, Mountains, Tomoyoshi Date), but doesn’t stay put for long.” Download
